The fund provides for death benefits after you retire.
If you leave an eligible spouse and/or dependent children, a lump sum of a quarter of your annual pension (before commutation plus any increase awarded thereon) will be paid. In addition, a pension of half your pension (before commutation plus any increases awarded thereon) will be paid to your spouse for life.
If you leave dependent children, children’s pensions will be paid in the same proportions as outlined above for members who pass away before retirement.

If there is no spouse and only dependent children (unmarried)

If you do not leave any spouse or child eligible for a pension, a nominee or your estate will be paid the difference between your own contributions and the interest less the total value received in pension and commutation of pension.
