If you are unable to work.

If you are temporarily/permanent disabled through sickness or an accident and were unable to return to the job you occupied just before you became disabled, you will receive these benefits:

• A monthly disability income of 75% of your monthly benefit base, six months after you are disabled, and you will continue to receive it until you recover, die or reach normal retirement age, whichever event occurs first. 
• After you have been disabled for two years, the income will only continue provided your disability renders you incapable of following your own or a similar occupation.
• Your disability income may be increased from time to time and any increase will also apply to your pensionable base used for death and retirement benefits.
• You and the Company will continue to contribute to the fund whilst you are receiving the disability income and you will receive your full pension benefit when you reach your normal retirement age.

What if I die whilst receiving a disability income?

If you die whilst receiving a disability income, your disability income ceases and your full death benefit from the fund will be payable to your dependants/nominees.

Payment of these benefits will also be subject to any exclusions or restrictions which the insurer underwriting the benefits may introduce from time to time.

The fund needs medical evidence

Disability will only be allowed if the fund and the insurer are totally satisfied with the medical evidence that you are unable to work.
